Eszter Jopp
Medical Tourism Expert – Managing Director of FirstMed Services GmbH
Eszter Jopp was born in Budapest in 1973 and lived there until she was 20, when she moved to Germany to study business administration. Today, she is a German citizen and resides in Potsdam.
During her time in Hungary, Eszter Jopp became interested in medical tourism. While working at a Hungarian tax consultancy, she contributed to a market study aimed at attracting patients from abroad to Hungary’s first private clinic. This experience sparked her idea to establish herself in this promising field.
In 1993, Eszter Jopp founded Medic Travel GmbH in Budapest, facilitating cosmetic and laser eye treatments in Hungary for German-speaking patients. She quickly recognized that the internet was the best way to attract foreign patients seeking medical services in Hungary. To enhance her expertise, she pursued a distance learning program in communication management at the Management Academy in Cologne.
In 1998, Eszter Jopp launched the brand BodyConture, representing high-quality cosmetic and laser eye treatments in Hungary.
In 2004, she served as a consultant for the health portal myBody, contributing strategically and content-wise to its development. A year later, she founded the online platform Zahnklinik-Ungarn.de.
In 2006, the native Hungarian, along with other experts from the health and internet sectors, established FirstMed Services GmbH, where she has served as managing director ever since. The brands BodyConture and Zahnklinik-Ungarn were brought together under one roof.
A significant milestone in the success story of FirstMed Services GmbH came when Eszter Jopp acquired her Swiss competitor DentalTravel GmbH (founded in 1997), further solidifying FirstMed’s position as the leading provider of health travel to Hungary.
